Save Time and Money with Ready Meals

The hardest part of eating healthier is having healthy food on hand.. that means planning your menus, shopping, and prepping so you have food ready to go when you walk in the door after a long day. When you’re starting anything new, it usually takes some time to get your groove down. A fresh perspective doesn’t hurt either.

One of my clients presented her husband with a perspective compelling enough to have him chopping veggies on Superbowl Sunday…

When he was less than enthused to help get the food ready for the week, she gently reminded him that taking time on Sunday to get everything together would mean less money spent eating out and much better food on the table during the week. They both enjoy cooking and eating healthy, they’re just so exhausted at the end of the day that they’ve fallen into the habit of going out to eat or swinging by Trader Joe’s or Costco to pick up something easy to prepare.

Even though they’re making fairly healthy choices by most standards, this routine (and food) is leaving her exhausted and slowly putting on pounds.

I’m so proud of her (and her husband) for taking the time to take care of themselves. They’re already noticing how much better they feel after a day of home-cooked meals. They’re enjoying experimenting with different sauces for their greens and whole grains. And, they’re saving even more money than expected because they’re making enough food to take for lunch the next day.
