(520) 877-6000

This is a paved path surrounded by trees and desert lanscapes. You can walk, bike, skake or blade this path. It is open 24 hours a day but dusk and dawn during the hot months would be an ideal time to avoid the heat.

TIP* On the weeekends there is a farmer’s market at Rillito Park. You could exercise yourself and your pup and then buy fresh, local organ produce, meats and cheeses to take home and enjoy.

Agua Caliente Hill Trail

3799 N Cam Cantil

This free hike is open 24 hours a day. The trail, #42 is groomed but dirt and is 9.25 miles round trip and is realtively strenuous with lots of climbing.

Catalina State Park

11570 N Oracle Rd

(520) 628-5798

Cost: $7 per vehicle and $3 for bycycles

This huge hiking area is dog friendly but your pup must be on the least at all times and he or she isnot allowed to go high up on the hills. The park ranger’s explained that the dogs must stay on low ground because of wild animals in Tucson, likemountain lions. You don’t want to get hunted by a wild animal for brigning fido so keep him low. There are eplently of low traisl to explore here and the scenery is beautiful.

Crest Trail

Colorado National Memorial

This trail is a fairly difficult 4 mile hike and is the only one that allows dogs in the Colorado national Memorial. It begins at the northeathern section of Memorial Pass and ends at Miller Peak. Dogs must be on a least at alltimes no greater than 6 feet long.

Mount Lemmon

Mount Lemmon has a lot of dog friendly hiking traisl but dogs must be on leashes at all times. Some good trails are Box Camp, Aspen Loop and Marshall Gultch

There are also many pet friendly hotels and resturants/bars in Tucson but we’ll save that post for another day.
