Things To Do In Tucson
# 25 Mt. Lemmon

Wanna take a great day trip?  You can drive up to Mt. Lemmon in just a little over an hour.
It's like thick Connecticut pine forest and its right up the road, literally.

I went up to Mt. Lemmon with friends in November of 2008 and had a blast playing in the snow.

Stop into the Mt. Lemmon General Store (top) for homemade fudge and one of my favorite places, the Living Rainbow Gift Shop (bottom) for unique gifts.  Next to the Living Rainbow Gift Shop is a place called Cookies and Pizza.  The cookies and the pizza are great and people will stand in line to get them.

The Mt. Lemmon ski slope and restaurant at the top, just a few minutes up from the village.  The Iron Door Restaurant is there.  In October, I love to go there for their Octoberfest.

I like to take a blanket to lay out on the grassy slope and watch the entertainment and eat, of course.  They serve bratwurst, red cabbage, potato salad, sauerkraut and of several German beers. Rent a cabin and stay over night.  It's a very relaxing time, not to mention a quick and easy getaway.

For more information about Mt. Lemmon,

There is not a lot of information available on the web.   You can also call me at (520) 631-TONY (8669) for information about cabin rentals, who to contact, phone numbers and general info.
